Connecting People to Jesus and Each Other
Our Mission at SonRise Christian Fellowship: Bringing people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, gathering them together as a worshipping community, growing them up as his lifelong disciples, and sending them out as ministers of the Gospel for the sake of the world.
LOVING COMMUNITY: Loving God and loving others, because in Christ we are adopted into His family and formed into a fellowship of faithful friends.
INTERGENERATIONAL WORSHIP: Integrating the ancient wisdom of the church with the fresh wind of the Spirit, because in Christ we are rooted in a rich heritage and in him all things are made new.
FERVENT PRAYER: Following the voice of the Good Shepherd through prayer and obedience, because true disciples are students of His Word and servants of His way.
EVERY MEMBER MINISTRY Embodying God’s mission of hope and hospitality out in the world, because every member is a minister of Christ’s mercy and an instrument of His peace.
What We Believe
The Triune God
We believe in one Holy and Loving God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and yet profoundly personal, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. | (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:17)
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Son, fully God and fully man, the Word of God made flesh, the one sinless Mediator between God and humanity, who was born of the virgin Mary, who freely sacrificed His life on the cross to forgive the sins of the world, remove our guilt, conquer death, and reconcile us to God through the power of His resurrection. | (John 1:1, 14; John 3:16; Acts 2:32; 1 Cor 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 4:15; 7:26)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity, our Comforter and Counselor, who is sent by God to convict us of our sin, call us to repentance, and glorify our Lord Jesus, as He regenerates and indwells our hearts, empowering us to live like Christ, and carry on his work in the world. | (Ezekiel 36:26-27; John 16:7-11; Romans 8:9-11; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-25; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God, infallible in its teaching, and inspired by the Holy Spirit, the complete revelation of God’s plan of salvation, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and life. | (Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
Humanity
We believe all human beings are loved and cherished by God, and have profound dignity and worth because they were created in God’s holy image to live in loving communion with God and in responsible, caring community with one another. | (Genesis 1:26-27;2:7, 15, 21-25; Luke 10:25-37)
Sin
We believe that God’s good world experiences brokenness, pain, suffering, and death because human beings have willfully rebelled against their Creator, and apart from Christ, we live lives of alienation and estrangement from God, each other, and ourselves. | (Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 3:23; 8:7; Titus 3:3)
The Church
We believe that the Church is the living body of Christ on the earth, a foretaste of God’s New Creation, the communion of saints, and the fellowship of redeemed sinners, called to be salt and light for the sake of the world, as we live holy lives of love and service and proclaim the Gospel in Jesus’ name. | (Matthew 5:13-16; Ephesians 2:19-22; 4:1-16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Peter 2:9-12)
The Return of Jesus Christ
We believe in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords, to judge the living and the dead, to renew and restore our broken planet with divine justice, peace and righteousness, and to bring about the consummation of history with the glorious arrival of God’s new heaven and new earth. | (Psalm 98:9; Matthew 24-25; Ephesians 1:9-10; 2 Thessalonians 2:6-10; Revelation 19-22)
